PHDCCI says Softening of rural and urban retail inflation are helping the inflation trajectory to become benign.

NEW DELHI, Apr 13 (The CONNECT) – Continued decline in food and beverages inflation from 7.7% in February 2024 to 7.6% in March 2024 and fuel and light inflation from -0.7% in February 2024 to -3.2% in March 2024, have softened the CPI inflation trajectory from 5.09% February 2024 to 4.8% in March 2024, said Sanjeev Agrawal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).

Proactive measures by the Government to strengthen the supply chains are leading to a decline in prices of food products coupled with continued softening of fuel and light prices, he said in a media statement.

Softening of rural and urban retail inflation are helping the inflation trajectory to become benign, he added.
